I need someone to give me a better recipe to milkshakes other than the usual loads of vanilla ice cream, a little milk and chocolate of your choice and blend it together. I set out with great plans to recreate the awesome Moo Moo Kinder Bueno's but Ive gone through numerous trial and errors today and failed every single time. My brother's saying that it tastes like melted choc chip ice cream, and my mum told me to serve all my visiting friends root beer float to finish up the whole load of ice cream i bought instead of torturing them with my attempts. My maid just cant stop laughing at me :(
And im so sick of seeing all those ice cream, milk and kinder bueno.
Gonna meet up with some of my jc classmates tmr. Having not seen them for eons (in fact some more than 2 years), its nice to see that we have all changed and yet, it doesnt feel like it. Contradictory, but such is life isnt it?

Transformers!
Finally managed to catch Transformers at Bugis with Dj and Erns today (: Love it.
I know people are going to laugh at me for getting all hyped up about seeing vehicles transform into robots who then fight each other in a seemingly plotless show, but to me its all about reliving my childhood! Bee is hotttttt ((((((((: And Megan Fox was just drop dead gorgeous. Totally can see why the cinema was so packed, hot babe and cool machines, hard to resist really.
Got my Sims 2 from Prisc today, hope its fun. Didnt want to spend so much money on Sims 3 and not like it, so decided to get the older version first.
And thanks Erns for all the Pocky!

To MJ, King of Pop.
This is shocking: The King of Pop Michael Jackson has passed away.
Just when we all thought that he was going to make a great comeback with his awesome lineup of plans and concerts and what not.
And so we have lost the greatest legend of our time.

Being a bum's such a luxury.
Met up with Mon and Stef yesterday at Waraku. Was good seeing them again (: We just basically sat there and talked for like ages, about ... omg law and med. Mon injured her hand in a fall and now she has this cool black hip hop guard thing around her wrist that she is complaining about. Hope she recovers soon, cos it can be such a hassle to have one less hand to work with.
Im still deciding if I want to go Msia with Stef to visit her Gran. She's tempting me with all the food, plus I think i havent stepped into Malaysia for at least like 5 years (not since sec 3 bio trip) cos my parents have been completely paranoid about getting robbed on the way there.
Tripod camp's supposed to start today but has been cancelled cos of H1N1. My mum's paranoid about it as well, and she is reluctant to let me travel. To be honest, Im quite amused by the big hoo- hah it has caused in Singapore, considering more people in UK die from the winter flu than this. So i guess Im just going to laze about more, and pretend to sound busy when I dont feel like going out.
Ern and Hing are back, yay! ((:
Meeting up with 7d people this Sat and the Losers on Sunday.
Hopefully ernie without the handphone will contact me soon. Your food is going to rot soon!
I love being a bum.
Its such a luxury.

Angels and Demons
Finally watched Angels and Demons with Boobie yesterday, and it was good, despite the fact that there arent any eye candies (save for the bad pope).
I finally got bored of Criminal Minds and Ive decided to give it up halfway, and Bones just doesnt have enough cool characters to get me hooked and Im watching The Apprentice UK version now. I prefer the US version, but couldnt really find the non- celeb versions on tudou.
Last time, I used to think that all these shows were totally made- up and the characters were scripted cos I just cant believe how cocky and arrogant people can be. Of course, that was before i went uni and opened my eyes and saw my classmates behaving like this. Which is pretty much why i always fade into the background during discussions.
Going to meet Mon today, havent seen her for ages. Totally looking forward to it!

More of Prague Pictures
Charles Bridge
One of those random places in the Lesser Town we stumbled upon. Pretty no?
At the John Lennon Wall, where people are free to air their love and hopes for a better world hahah.
One of my fave places in Prague, beats me why too since its actually just a graffiti wall, albeit a very happy one.
Prisc with her Chicken stuff.
This was heavenly. Pork Goulash with Dumplings (which are basically bread like stuff).
If you are in Prague, you definitely have to check out Ceska Kuchyne, just next to Havelsky Market. Food there's cheap (by european standards), very local and good. Its abit like a food court in there.

It was good, but service could be better, as with most places in Czech.
Relatively cheap and good (ask to have it heated up), and the waiter's cute (looks almost scandi) but as usual, not very polite hehe.
Going to watch Angels and Demons (finally) with Boobie later. Looking forward to a movie after dont know how long. 2 years on in London and I havent caught a single one there before.
Looking forward to people coming back, even though they all carry a high risk of H1N1 hahah.

Prague Pictures I (finally)
Some random place within Prague Castle. After some time, all the angmoh buildings look alike. Didnt help that we dont understand Czech too. Hehe.
At Golden Lane in Prague Castle, loved it so much.
They used to be toilets, thousands of years ago. Now they are souvenir shops selling all sorts of quaint and handmade stuff. And the colour of the shops makes me happy.

View from a vineyard in Prague Castle. The view here was gorgeous. There was this Jap TV Station there doing some filming.
The famous St Vitus Cathedral. Which we didnt get a chance to go in cos the queue was so long and we just kept postponing it. And eventually didnt get to go in hehe.
Some of the cute handmade stuff they had in Prague.
Was tempted to get them but the thought of having to lug them back to london and then singapore deterred me.

Busker on the bridge. They have different people providing diff entertainment everytime we were on it.
Watching Criminal Minds now, cos May has been raving about it. Kinda reminds me of CSI. And i think i prefer Chuck. Any other suggestions anyone?
Will load up more pictures next time, getting a little bored waiting for blogger.

Chuck!
Finally finished Chuck season 2, and cant seem to find anything else that Im interested in at the moment.
For those who needs some good entertainment: http://watchchuckstreaming.blogspot.com/
I cant wait for Season 3 to come out!
Need more good shows to entertain me now. Watching Guns and Talks now, and im 15mins in and very bored already :(
And anyone interested in doing smthing geeky (i think its cool though):
1. Singapore Science Centre is one of those few countries in the world that is hosting the Da Vinci Exhibition. I wanted to see it when I was in Prague, and Prisc was telling me that I could go to the one in Singapore.
2. And yes, Im uncool enough not to have watched Angels and Demons.
Totally loving every moment of my summer break- like having nothing to do and being bored out of my mind. Its such a luxury not to have much planned.
How to diet when i have Reese's in front of me :(

Im gonna name my first son Bryce.
I am ashamed to have finished the entire Chuck season 1 in 1 day. And im on Episode 10 of Season 2 now. And that on the right, is my new man Bryce. Hot stuff eh?
I havent really stepped out much 'cept to grab takeaways for lunch.
Going to Iggy's for dinner tomorrow, hope its as good as they say it is.
Back in Singapore for a mere 3 days and Ive put on 1kg. Whatever happened to my weight loss plans for home? Sigh.
PS. Anyone up for some good jap/ korean food sometime soon?

How well do you know Peish?
Finally finished Heroes Season 3, cant wait for Season 4 to come out. Im on to Chuck now. And I'll possibly go on to Bones after this when im sick of sitting in front of the computer screen since I have the DVDs for that series.
Other than American dramas, my most recent entertainment is the "How well do you know blah-blah?" on FB. Its hilarious looking at your score on how low you score for the quiz on someone you thought you know knew so well. For one i got 1 out of 10 right for Boobie's quiz, and she's like my first friend in RGS or smthing? Rae was also saying that her twin, who is possibly more than her BFF, couldnt ans so many of the qns from her quiz as well.
Its funny really, cos someone who possibly knows what makes me tick and what to say when Im down in the dumps and bawling my head off, probably doesnt know what flavour of ice cream to offer me. Its interesting how when you get to know someone so well, you tend not to pay attention to the small stuff.
But i dont blame them cos my quiz is hard, its like choosing between what I like/dislike more compared to the others. And i probably exaggerated when I say smthing like this is my fave, cos I probably mean one of. I guess to know all the answers, you probably have to know me from way back. 'Cos its seems like i dont really change my preferences over the years. My absolute favourite/ un-favourite starts from the distant past hehehe.
So yes, i happen to like old friends more.
Im back old friends, please please please text me at my old number or drop me a msg on FB. I wanna meet up for kopi siew dai, gow somewhere, anywhere.

Back in Singapore
Back in Singapore now, catching up on as many Heroes that Ive missed over the past few months as possible. And just lazing around at home reading and junking and watching a bit of random shows on tv now and its just absolutely amazing.
I love the excuse that Ive gotta be home to help my brother out with work. And hence I cant get a job cos I cant rem a thing and Ive gotta read up before telling him anything. Which really isnt all that hard actually.

Last Night in London
Spent the last few days going on shopping sprees, which is amazing. Got stuff for people back at home and managed to nab some deals for myself as well. Retail therapy (though i technically have nothing to mourn about) always rocks. Im glad that life of a medic is crazy, otherwise i do think that my bank account would bleed dry if Ive the time to head down to Oxford Street weekly. 3days on and I dont want to keep track of how much barang I've gotten. But but but, most of them are not for me so it doesnt really count yeah? :0 Only wished that there were more sales going on.
Seriously, oxford street doesnt look like its hit by recession one bit at all.
London's weather is getting abit too hot for my liking. I was out in spags and strolling and still, i was sweating (in london!). But I totally loved the sun, cant wait to be back home when i can go swimming and cease being a milky bar. Not sure if im going to love the sun in Singapore as much though cos its like 20deg sun here and Im starting to feel the heat, wonder what would become of me when its 32 eh?
Currently bunking at Ken's place now, and its gorgeous (for a London flat). Im sleeping in the living room and its twice the size of my room in Campbell House East. Sofa is possibly more comfy than my old bed. Makes me sad that Im living in a dingy little room and having to move every single year. Im def going to call house movers nxt year to save myself all the pain of moving house and carrying all those heavy stuff. Im definitely considering moving out of student halls cos I would be here in London most of the time when clinics start anyway.
Meanwhile, Im gonna watch some House now. Ive been lagging with exams occupying all my time and me being too giam to pay for net in my room.
See everyone back in Singapore soon! Cant wait really (((:
And its gonna be my first time taking the A380 tmr, hopefully the air stewardesses would be pretty and polite. Looking forward definitely!

Out of Campbell House.
Im supposed to be moving out in 1hr's time, but Prisc isnt awake yet so here I am still in the kitchen watching my ke ai de neighbour clean it up. How nice of him. Which was why i decided I shall be nice and donate all my notes to him.
Finally finished moving house, which was a pain the neck. Had to get 2 cabs cos the 1st cab said that i would overload it with my stuff. Was just wondering if he had to carry like 5 100kg man, would he do it? Cos im sure my stuff wouldnt even add up to half of that. Plus he started charging me that moment i started loading. 2nd cabbie was real nice though, and that totally made my night. I love friendly people, aint that the point of service?
I shall go shower and wake Prisc up now, gotta check out by 10am. Dont want another fine.
Ciao!

I hate moving house.
What's worse than having no movers to move your house, is losing your keys to your old home like 1 day before youve gotta move out. Totally distressing considering that Ive been working so hard not to lose it (and if you know me, you prbly know that Im the most careless rubbish in the world), and Im losing it when I have to move out tmr! Which means a 27quid fine. Plus a earful from my mum, who cant stop taking a dig at me (which was why i was thankful when my phone ran out of battery).
Best thing is that im actually very sure that the keys are somewhere in my room or the kitchen, cos I havent been out at all since last night. Sighs.
Ive finally given up searching for that bunch are looking through every nook and cranny and luggage and bag for the past 8h.
Now all im looking forward to is to dump everything at Ken's and then just sit around and do nothing. Would be good if Ive some DVDs to occupy me with, but since I dont have the luxury of internet fast enough to load any youtube video, Im happy reading and snacking.
As usual, counting down to being home. Im going to be involved in Tripod again this year cos my mum wants me back to tutor my brother for A's. Plus with the swine flu scare, I doubt I would be able to do much travelling.
Anyway if you are interested in spending your hols doing smthing meaningful, do consider volunteering as a facilitator for Tripod. I believe they are still looking for volunteers. According to Mich, she'll be happy to have you involved if you can make it for the camp!
Details as such:
Tripod '09 is targetted at secondary school youth from different schools together. It aims to provide an opportunity for them to share more about their school culture and work together to serve the community. Started in 2007, Tripod is into its third year and once again, we're calling for passionate facilitators to make a difference in the lives of youth.
As facilitators to a group of these youth, you will be leading the group throughout the camp. This includes the facilitation of group discussions as well as games within the group. Key dates to note include the following:
1. Facilitator Training: 2nd June, 1-6pm
2. Participants Newspaper collection: 6th June, 830-1pm
3. Participants Camp: 24-26th June

5 days to Home!
I think Im a terrible host to Prisc, cos not only do i cramp her up in this small dingy hole (which i/ucl claim to be a room) full of China Bags and luggages, I make her go to Tower Bridge alone (cos i had to catch the post office before it closes), and make her walk around a lot (2 years on and I still find the transport in london a ripoff).
Plus the only places in London that I know well are food places, smthing which she doesnt enjoy (which is why i found it very surprising when she said she was going to Gordon Ramsay for lunch).
On top of that, she is going to be a coolie and help me move house tmr. Whooops.
Im constantly distracted these few days cos all Im doing is counting down to going home. Which is officially in 5 days time! I just cant wait to tuck into Ba Chor Mee (which they didnt have in singapore day!) and my fave Lao Zhong Zhong Ngoh Hiang. Speaking of food, I have been like eating way too much which is really bad news :( Had Inn Noodles with Anneka and Anita for a late lunch and then met Eunice at Prezzo (complete with a sticky toffee pudding dessert). I really should start exercising soon.
I only wish I could be like Ernie who has DESSERTS and SIT ALL THE TIME and LOSE 3-4KG. Someone slap her for me please.
After 2 years in london, I finally got a taste of how liberal London is. I witnessed 2 guys (yes, both males) frenching outside College Hall the other day. Even though, I was trying to not stare, I think my deliberate looking at the tree across the road was even more obvious. But still, I wonder how people will take this in Singapore? Cos it seemed to me that I was the only one along the street trying real hard not to gawk. Either that or Im the only bad actor around here.
Will try to get Prague pictures up soon!

Is there a possibility that my heart will fail from being too nervous?
Im positively freaking out at the prospect of results coming out in a couple of hours. Actually, im not even sure if its going to be tonight or tmr night, which is annoying. I only wish they would give us this exact time on when it would come out to save us from refreshing the email page like 1000x a min. The idea of having to come back for resits is not only plain depressing but also downright embarrassing. I think no one actually think it possible for a singaporean to not do well (if not thrash the angmohs) when we are overseas. Its like there is this mentality that it is obviously easier to do well when you are not in singapore cos it is less competitive. Im not quite sure if this is actually self- imposed but I do feel it, which is partly the reason why i didnt enjoy Prague as much as I should have i suppose. But i cant help it, cos im a worrywart by nature, and i get freaked out by every little small thing. Times like this, i wish i have dj's chilled, laid- back, take it as it comes attitude.
Im rambling on now cos Im nervous, and as much as i hope to just sit in front of my computer and press ctrl+R every other second, i do realise that it would make the wait more painful. So Im planning to bring Prisc out for a bit, to Polo for Korean (or maybe Assa) and maybe walk about abit before its gets too much and i have to find myself internet to check my mail again.
Back in London now, cant say how happy I am. I know its wrong to say this, but i do think London is more beautiful and enjoyable than Prague (and Brno of course, which is literally an industrial town).
Prisc's turn to the com and my turn to the loo.
Ciao, wish me luck people!

Last night in Bata's birthland.
Today's my last night in Prague, and I find it rather ironic how I have more access to internet here in Prague than in London (yes, I am giam enough not to want to pay for net in my room).
Its amazing how time flies, cos I remember myself whining and complaining to Prisc about how totally overrated Prague is ('cos honestly i think that the pictures that we took makes the city look better than it actually is), I think i might just miss it a tad bit.
5 Days of Prague is quite sufficient, though i have to say that sadly, we missed St Vitus Cathedral (we were just too tired after all the walking to go back to it), and the Jewish part of Prague. I dont quite mind it though, cos this trip was mostly to take my mind off my impending results day (now in less than 5 days, oh man!).
Today was shopping and eating day. Which is always good. Totally my ideal holiday, enjoying life as it is. Czech food isnt the healthiest of fare- with loads of meat and carbo and sauce plus little veg (Yes, i hear calorie counters and diet doom). But it is nice in its own way. I do foresee myself missing it quite a bit when i leave this place, cos i dont think its readily available anywhere else.
Time for bed, hair is almost dry and Prisc's turn to the computer!

More of Prague.
Waiting for Prisc to come out of the loo, so i thought i shall do a quick update. Actually more for myself to remember what i did during the trip.
Visited Prague Castle yesterday and we literally spent a whole day there. We are going back there today again cos we bought tickets to watch a concert- like an orchestra one. Im looking forward to it cos they are playing Canon in D, which is my all time fave and also Vivaldi's 4 seasons and some other mozart works. Plus it would be in St George's Basilica (i think, im going to double check it tonight), a cathedral which is absolutely gorgeous inside. We are planning to go back to St Vitus Cathedral today, which is like the highlight of Prague Castle. It looks absolutely amazing from the outside, reminding me of Sagrada familia. The interior is apparently even more breathtaking. Im totally looking forward to it.
We had dinner at Cafe Louvre, which has a long rich history. People like Einstein used to work there. The food was good and the ambience great. We might just be heading back there today for lunch. Looking forward to it!
Alright, shall take my leave now. Its 12.30pm and we havent started the day!
Visited Prague Castle yesterday and we literally spent a whole day there. We are going back there today again cos we bought tickets to watch a concert- like an orchestra one. And hopefully Prague will start looking prettier.
I just do the silliest things sometimes, like accidentally clicking ok to "reformat SD card?" when fiddling with my cam. Meaning that i basically lost all my photos from the 1st 2 days in Prague. Which is really a pity.
I dont quite mind losing 1st day's photo of the old town square and astro clock, cos i was just too tired that day to really enjoy Prague (in fact, i was disliking it and on the verge of hating it.) so it wasnt really worth remembering it in Print or Picture.
But Day 2 was pretty fun. I really enjoyed the Charles's Bridge (even though it was under construction and hence the grandeur was diminished significantly), and I absolutely LOOOVEEEDD the John Lennon wall even though it was just this wall for hippies to leave their graffitti (maybe im a hippie at heart). Stopped by this cafe that had gorgeous looking cakes, that were going for half price. But only when we went in, the owner said we had to order an exorbitant drink to get it at half price. Which is sooo unethical. It totally didnt help that his attitude was so darn bad (Im getting the anal kelvina-mama syndrome) and he's not cute at all plus the cake only looked pretty. Got me ranting at him after we left for a bit.
Petrin hill was awesome too, there were pretty flower beds which me and Prisc took like 1001 pictures in there (now all gone). Moreover, I quite enjoyed the walk through the meandering paths as well (reminds me of Bukit Timah Hill ... kinda.) We stopped by this touristy restaurant midway, which was surprisingly awesome. I had Bohemian Onion Soup with Cheese Toast, that was realllllyyyyy good. Only wished it was creamy, but i guess you cant have creamy onion soup can you? (Totally craving the seafood soup i had in Norway now). Prisc had this duck dish that looked really tempting too. Price was decent. Hers being about 10quid and mine was 50koruna, meaning about 2quid?
I guess being long at a place just grows into you. As least for me, i like things familiar. Like how im starting to really love London. I actually think London is gorgeous.
Hopefully i will start loving Prague too. Afterall, its just wrong to say smthing along the lines of Prague being not pretty (but all european buildings do look the same after some time no?) or not enjoyable.

In Prague!
Its my first day in Prague and I dont know if its cos Im so tired from the lack of sleep (had to go Stansted real early to catch a 6am flight) or for some other unknown reason, I actually find it relatively boring here.
Visited the old town square and the astrological clock (or some sorts) which was actually quite pretty but somehow didnt enjoy it as much as I would expect myself to. My feet's aching real badly now from walking on all the cobbled ground (Yes they look cool and pretty and ancient but they are such a pain to walk on. thankfully i have my track shoes with me.)
Maybe tmr would be better. Hopefully so, considering that Im going to be here for another 5days and 3 more days in Brno which is apparently more boring that Prague. Afterall, tmr we are planning to see Charles Bridge proper (barely managed a glimpse today from the old town site), and also the famous Prague Castle. Im crossing my fingers that those sights will change my opinion of this city, 'cos i cant believe Im complaing about a place that everyone has been raving about.
And i do have to agree with Brian, Czech is indeed the thailand of Europe.
(And betcha didnt know that Bata's from Czech wahaha. They have a 4 storey Bata here.)
