We all love being Singaporeans.

SINGAPORE: Chinese actress Gong Li has become a citizen of Singapore, the government-controlled Straits Times reported Monday.

Gong, 43, was sworn in with 149 other new Singapore citizens, holding her fist to her chest as she recited the country's pledge, the newspaper said.

Gong, who starred in 2005's 'Memoirs of a Geisha' and in 'Miami Vice' a year later, had been scheduled to be sworn in as a Singapore citizen in August, but failed to attend the ceremony.

China does not recognize dual nationalities. (So does Singapore mahh.)

Gong, who was born in China's Liaoning province, married Singapore businessman Ooi Hoe Seong in 1996.

-
(From Telegraph and China Daily.)

This has very unfortunately spark off debates:
"All traitors will be nailed to history's mast of shame. We should resolutely reject any futher contact with such people," on person said in a chat forum on the popular portal Sohu.com.

But i found this quite amusing:
"Why doesn't anyone ask why people want to emigrate? We see one Chinese person after another take US citizenship," one person said on Sohu. "Why don't we see Americans taking Chinese citizenship?"

And this makes it very clear why it rocks to be a Singaporean (:
In August, Gong's close friend and hairstylist David Gan told the Singapore newspaper The Straits Times: "She travels a lot and it's convenient to hold a Singapore passport. A lot of stars like to stay here (Singapore) too. There's no paparazzi. When I walk down Orchard Road with Gong, nobody notices." Singapore citizens enjoy visa-free access to 122 countries and territories.

I love my pretty red passport with esplanade prints <33333

Kotex and Lee Joon Ki.

Oh man.
Why did Joonie even agree to being their poster boy?

And Shinhwa's Vol 9 is going for 16 pounds on the cheapest online CD shop i can find.
I guess I shall have to wait to go back home to get it :(

One of us, One of Them.

I can't wait for Heroes episode 3 to come out!
I want it now now now now!
I have officially gotten my roomie onto Heroes as well. Oopseyy.

And this was what she introduced to me:

Songs Update.

I seemed to have lost touch with mandarin songs lately. But was inspired to keep updated after chatting to my roommate about popstars.

Anyway, i knew Jay Chou had a new single but didnt have the chance to watch it till today:

稻香

And Lee Hom has a new song too!:

摇滚怎么了

SHE has new songs too:

天亮了- As with those 2 above, its pretty similar to all their old songs.
And Hebe seems to have had a new haircut, I prefer her old one though, she used to look alot cuter (and better).
Ella looks much better now though, wonder if the company has finally decided to let her look slightly more feminine after 花样.

According to Baidu, Mayday seems to have a new song as well. But i cant seem to find it on youtube. And for some reason, baidu doesnt show up any results no matter what i type.

Meanwhile, I'm a converted Maroon 5 fan. I hope they come to London!

School starts.

School has started!
At least the admin is kind enough to start the first day with only 1 proper lecture. But year 2 timetable is quite disgusting, with almost all full day lectures and labs, plus 2 dissection sessions a week. But, I'm (disturbingly) still feeling rather excited about school. I wonder how long this will last though, 'cos i think once the tiredness and not being able to catch up with stuff sets in, then it would be a whole different story altogether.

And for Heroes fans, season 3 episode 1 is finally out!:
http://www.xiaoli.cc/video/detail/12
(Claire looks hotter than ever!)
But I have to say season 1 is still my favourite, Im not quite used to Peter being a baddie. Or is he?

What a wonderful world.

And really, it is a wonderful world.

This guy is awesome.
He gave me goosebumps for being so good, and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Awww.

Symptoms dont lie.

I randomly caught House on AXN 4 days ago. About 3 minutes ago, I just completed House Season 4. And I'm annoyed because Season 5 isnt out yet.

This is like being pregnant. It's so painful waiting, and you just hope it'll come out NOW.
And yes, preggies are allowed to be unreasonable.

Red Cliff.

Subconsciously I think I placed the pictures of the male stars in order of how much I like them.
It's embarrassing really.

He was so charming that he gave me goosebumps. God really has created a masterpiece in this case.
His acting was awesome, and I totally loved his portrayal of Zhuge Liang.
As expected, he was charming and his acting unrivalled. Though it surprised me that I walked out of the cinema loving Zhuge Liang more.
But, Im still a bigger fan of Tony Leung, and Im looking forward to Part II which I believe would have more of him.
Hu Jun was stunning. I love that air of dignity and confidence he displayed this time. More refined and beautifully played than his role in 天龙八部.

I have to give it all to John Woo for making such a beautiful movie.
Its been quite some time since such a wonderful chinese blockbuster was produced.
LOADS better that 卧虎藏龙 in my opinion, though I would have loved Ziyi Zhang (as much as i dont like her) over Chilin Lin.

Toby Hemingway

Normally Blonde, Brit Boys dont appeal to me but I found myself googling this chap after watching The Covenant.

The Covenant was rated rather badly by alot of critics. But I think if you like Harry Potter genre movies, you might like it too. In fact, I liked it loads. Though i suspect it might be because Im generally interested in people having supernatural powers (Harry Potter, Heroes, Spiderman. See the link?)
Warning though, I have a feeling Christians might not like it too much.
Just like how, while watching Driving Lessons (starring Rupert Grint!), I suspect the 2 angmoh ladies sitting in front of me left the show prematurely after their tolerance level for atheist jokes worn thin.

What a Ratty Night.

For those who are as deprived as me when it comes to Asian entertainment news,
this is the latest big thing that is hitting Hong Kong:
http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2008/02/05/lustout.hong.kong.sex.photos.cnn

Apparently, some idiot has released private saucy photos of edison's ex- girlfriends, which he took of them while they were together.
And it includes nude pictures of celebs like Gillian (from Twins)- she is rather suicidal about this apparently, Cecilia Cheung- who wants to break up with Nic Tse (why? shouldnt it be the other way round.) and Joey Yeung- reports have claimed that her pictures are photoshopped though.

And seriously, we should just give these people a break.
If you want to see nude pictures,
why not just go on porn sites (better body and more exciting I would think).
Or just go a club,
and look at drunk girls pull their tops and skirts off.
And if you are lucky, you might just be able to kope a feel.

Stupid annoying busybodies.
and if you are wondering,
yes i happen to be a fan of gillian and edison,
but i generally think that they should be given privacy (actually, dont you think its only basic respect) when it comes to things that are going on in the bedroom.
Humans can be so malicious.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

And this is yet another thing that caught my attention, when I was on my Kang Xi marathon:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYuIg7Tnc7g

Seriously, this is a classic example of a pot calling a kettle black.
Or should I say,
Dean and Pegington telling Moore he's bad.

Speaking of poor english, my vocab seems to be expanding. I know bradycardia and leukotrienes, but how come still cannot write proper sentences ah?

I loove Singapore,
and dont ask me why Im so fiercely patriotic.
Beats me too.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont know why Im awake at this hour,
(ok maybe i stayed up to call home on CNY eve,
so that I would be less miserable spending CNY
stuck here
without all the good food
or company
of my favourite people back at home.)
Either way,
I think I should be going to get some sleep if not I would be a zombie during tut.
And i dont want to sound dumber than I already am.

It seems like as I grow up,
People around me start getting smarter.
(But I either stagnate or become dumber.)
Everyone Ive met after 406 says they dont study,
but seems to know everything,
Have a guardian angel to do their tutorials,
And a voice at the back of their heads during exams to tell them answers.
Apparently, I dont deserve such luck hur.

And bloody,
I have 11 winning bids on ebay that are due to end in the next few days,
WHATEVER AM I DOING?

Thank goodness,
this is only a formative assessment. (:
AKA singaporean mentality= not counted= nevermind can slack and pia again next time.

Shalalala.

新年快乐,
祝你鼠年行大运!
(and did i get the chinese characters all right?)
